Morton v Cowdenbeath

COLIN CAMERON might stand only 5ft 8in tall but Jimmy Nicholl insists the ex-Hearts and Scotland midfielder has made a giant impact at Cowdenbeath.

Nicholl's Blue Brazil have settled well into life in Division One, winning two of their last three games. And the gaffer feels that is due in no small measure to the contribution on and off the field from player-assistant boss Cameron, right.

As he prepared for today's visit to Cappielow, Nicholl said: 'I'm pleased with the way things are going and Mickey has done great. He has played a big part on and off the field. He does the warm-ups, the passing drills and gives his input before the game or at half-time.

'His football brain is well respected and the players have taken to him.'

Defender Joe Mbu is back in the Cowden squad but Jon Robertson, Dene Droudge and Danny MacKay remain out.

Ton boss Allan Moore last night signed Celtic kid Sean Fitzharris on an emergency loan to bolster his depleted squad. Midfielder Carlo Monti faces a six-week lay-off after breaking an ankle in a midweek bounce game while Kevin McKinlay, David MacGregor, Nathan Shephard, Fouad Bachirou and Ryan Kane are also sidelined.

Keeper Kevin Cuthbert is struggling with a shoulder injury and Allan Jenkins may play despite a leg knock.

Moore said: 'Any squad would struggle with six players out and two doubtful but we just have to get on with things.'
